A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The intervention won by competition of ideas is part of a larger project of internal reorganization and renovation of the furnishings of the library of the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa. Specifically, it deals with the new ac- cess area to the library section of Palazzo della Gherardesca with the aim of enhancing the architectural elements characterizing the building, favouring its reading; and providing, through the new layout, a modern, functional and distinctive image of the library.
