Regional plan of communal waste management: Methodological approach for the strategic environmental assessment
Strategic environmental assessment (SEA) represents one of the most significant instruments for the implementation of environmental protection strategy in the spatial and urban planning. Application of SEA in planning enables introspection of spatial changes and respect of environmental requirements. Although the Law on SEA defines methodological and procedural framework for conducting and adopting the SEA, as well as the content of the SEA Report, the unique methodology of strategic environmental assessment of plans is not defined. The paper will represent the methodology which was applied in the compilation of SEA for regional waste management plan. It is the first SEA conducted for this kind of regional plans in Serbia.
