This article explains in detail the history of the conception of the Baroque portal of Valencia Cathedral and narrates the vicissitudes of its existence up to the time of the emergency works carried out by Fernando Chueca in 1982. This information was the basis for the recent restoration works performed by the authors, who needed to engage in profound reflection about the intervention criteria applicable in this case and came up against all sorts of problems in the execution of their work.
