Quinta da Boa Vista: De Espaço de Elite a Espaço Público
The present work consider the trajectory and the peculiar evolution of a space - the "Quinta da Boa Vista" - from it's former character as a official residence of the braziiian em perors to a public space of our days, where it is used by the workers and families from the lower and middle classes of Rio de Janeiro city as their preferred local for family entertainment. These groups come to this park looking for green and free areas to relax from the stress of modern life and to play with their children, and also to learn som ething about natural sciences and sociology in the Museu Nacional (National Museum) and in the zoo. These two institutions, together with the green areas of the park, are the principal elements of the "Quinta da Boa Vista"Park
