A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
El futuro de la arquitectura es post-crítico: debemos vaciar la arquitectura de sus superestructuras narrativas borrando las subjetividades para redescubrir un cierto vacío o neutralidad psicológica de las cosas. En este proceso, podemos descubrir las posibilidades formales y programáticas de las cosas para diseñar espacios y edificios por medio del conocimiento científico cuantificable. Este es un cambio de paradigma donde el espacio ya no tiene significado, sino presencia física y química. Debemos emplear los objetivos de la teoría crítica (subjetividad, multiplicidad, diversidad) pero cambiar sus herramientas (narrativa, historia), reemplazándolas por enfoques objetivos, científicos, neutrales y no narrativos. Aquí es donde la semántica da paso a lo somático, y donde el storytelling y la ficción hacen lugar a las propiedades medibles del mundo, en una nueva objetividad de las cosas, del espacio. Abstract The future of architecture is post-critical: we must empty architecture of its narrative superstructures through the erasure of subjectivities in order to rediscover a certain blankness or psychological neutrality of things. In this process, we can discover the formal and programmatic possibilities of things for the design of spaces and buildings through quantifiable scientific knowledge. This is a paradigm shift where space no longer has meaning, but instead has physical and chemical presence. We must engage the targets of critical theory (subjectivity, multiplicity, diversity) but change its tools (narrative, story), replacing them with objective, scientific, neutral, nonnarrative approaches. This is where the semantic gives way to the somatic, and where storytelling and fiction make room for the measured properties of the world, in a new objectivity of things, of space.
