The system of green areas in the function of environmental protection the example of Vrnjačka Banja and Vršac
The paper stresses the importance of vegetation in the function of environmental protection. Special overview of the current legal framework in Republic of Serbia regarding planning of the green areas is included. Two separate examples of the current practice, The Master Plan of Vrnjačka Banja and The Plan of Detailed Regulation of the central zone of Vršac, presents the planning solutions covering the segment of green areas in the function of environmental protection. One of the main conclusion of the paper stresses the necessity of promoting the functions of the vegetation and the system of green areas in the function of protection and improvement of the environmental conditions, with continual legal, institutional and financial support, recognized as main conditions of the efficient management.
