The Urban Identity of The Main Traffic Routes
Many previous studies have examined the perception of the urban identity of cities through the main movement paths, as the most important element that affects the visual perception of the city. Therefore, the aim of the present research is to identify the elements of the urban identity of the main movement paths as the design element that affects the visual perception of the city. The solution to this problem entails introducing new methods to deal with the problem of perceiving the urban identity. The methodology of present research is conducted through three phases; monitoring, analysis, in addition to a questionnaire. It investigates three main movement paths in three different regions) Al-Saliba axis in El-Sayeda zeinab, Ibrahim Al-Laqani axis in Heliopolis, The services central axis in the 6th October city) as samples for the study. The study concluded that the perception of the urban identity of the main paths differ from one person to another according to a set of factors. Therefore, it is necessary to study these factors that affect the perception of individuals to achieve the goal of design and planning.
