SPATIAL COMPOSITIONS AND TYPES OF TERMINATION OF 13th – EARLY 19th CENTURY ORTHODOX CHURCHES IN PENZA REGION
The article examines the evolution and classifies the Orthodox churches of the Penza region by types of spatial solution and architectural termination and identifies typical and rare examples for the region. The author retraces the evolution of quaternary (chetverik) church structure proportions in the Baroque and Classicism periods and the development of the domed top. Techniques and variations that present additional subtypes of three-dimensional compositions are established.
