This article seeks to shift the focus of discussion about the ideological and formal origins of modern Zionist architecture to the rural kibbutz sphere. This change of emphasis is required in the context of the historical dominance of the pre-state Zionistic anti-urban agro-centric socialist ideologies and practices.
