A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
In the complex relationship between nature and artifice, establishing new modes of environmental balance between the anthropogenic transformations and ecosystems are established. The article, referring to the references for the basic concepts definitions of, focuses on the connections that follow one another in time from the first concepts of “conservation” by G. Pinchot to the expression “deep ecology” introduced in environmental literature on 1973 by the philosopher A. Naess, to the holistic approach of E. P. Odum, until the more famous environmentalist idea in the eighties: Gaia, ideas in economics of H. Daly, the great American economist father of the theory of sustainable development, leading to some considerations on the influences in the field of environmental design.
