Resistance to the understanding of bricks in the municipality of Ocaña
The compressive strength of fired clay masonry units under uniaxial concentric compressive forces was investigated in the 16 chircales that surround the city of Ocaña. The uniaxial concentric compressive strength values of all the bricks produced do not comply with what is established in the Colombian technical standard (NTC) 4205. The resistance to axial compression of the masonry used is vulnerable to the action of gravitational loads and it is expected that its bending stiffness decreases, generating structures in buildings that are vulnerable in their capacity to compression. either due to requests due to the use of the building, due to the action of the wind or earthquake.
