Photography as a Tool for Reclaiming Sites
The need to reclaim heritage which has been abandoned or is falling into disuse represents a challenge for contemporary architectural practices, as well as a concern for owners and those managing requalification projects in local communities. It is within this framework that we can complement methodologies and techniques specific to planning procedures on different scales with photography, as a further tool available for those working on requalification projects, not just as a simple recording device, but as a catalyst and accelerator of rehabilitation processes. Through this, the attention to community values embedded in any architectural or landscape asset – be it unique or spread out on the territory – can become a part of engagement initiatives aimed at local communities during the entire process of requalification.
