Public Spaces: the City in Scene (II) Use, Collateral Effects and Adverse Reactions
This paper presents some central ideas that supported the proposal of a group of
geographers to make a film about public spaces. One of the most important ideas is the heuristic value of images when treated geographically. Simultaneously, the text warns about some common behaviors that in general compromise the creative power of images in the manner which they are used and interpreted in the Social Sciences, particularly in Geography.
