Band pass filter design with quasi-lumped resonators using equivalent circuit
In this paper, we propose the use of equivalent circuits for the band pass filter design with quasilumped resonators. The filter design procedure consists of several stages and the most time-consuming step is the one that assumes employment of 3D EM simulations. Although these simulations lead to the most accurate results, the analysis and synthesis of the filter can be simplified by using equivalent circuits of the 3D model elements and the complete filter structure, thereby keeping sufficient accuracy. The analysis of the properly developed equivalent circuits provides the possibility to quickly get the insight into the filter characteristics, and in this paper it is shown that they can be used to speed up the filter design procedure, as well.
