A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
European directives and harmonized documents on pressure equipment testing
Damages to pressure vessels can result in both human and material losses. In order that such conditions should be prevented in industry that uses pressure vessels and equipment, the European Commission adopted respective documents to regulate the design, production and operation of such equipment. This paper describes the processes of practical implementation of legal provisions and codes that control this area in this country. The primary goal of these documents is to improve the equipment safety, however, also to comply to the European directives, to the Directive 97/23/EC - Pressure Equipment in particular. Certain experiences in operating this equipment in the 'Beli limovi' d.o.o - Šabac are used as examples, however, they can be useful to other organizations too.
