This is the first study to consider a concept of modern forms of medical and recreational systems through the lens of urban planning. Territorial medical recreation systems have become for the first time a subject matter of study with reference to their emergence in modern conditions (the corona virus pandemic, closure of western borders) in the territory of cross-border settlement systems (using as an example the Russian-Chinese border area). No such studies are available in relation to the Far Eastern region.
