Impact de l’évolution des conditions agroclimatologiques sur les systèmes de culture à base de banane plantain : le cas de l’Est ivoirien
Considering changes of cropping systems within Cote d’Ivoire eastern fringe since the seventies, the current survey suggest a regional macroscopic analysis of agroclimatic conditions that affect annual and perennial crops. It assesses the impact of climate decline on agricultural activities considering the frequency analyses of the various efficient rainy season lengths and of the annual water deficit index. The figures are predicted by a daily water balance modelling. Their analysis shows dissimilar conditions. Besides a steady central belt, the increased water deficit index impacts on the northern zone. Within the southern zone, it is combined with a decrease of the minor effective rainfall season length mainly noticeable within the coastal western fringe. The drought risk increase doesn’t drastically challenge annual crop development. Its impact is more noticeable on perennial or multiannual crops such as plantain spp. that grow over the two rainy seasons within the western zone and its coastal fringe.
