The city consists in a considerable challenge to the urban environment studious, principally when it repports to the urban-metropolitan environment. To approach this subject in a interdisciplinary perspective, the environmental problems in the center of interests, imposes the joint exercise of different disciplines. An interdisciplinary works methodology based on theoretical support and an empirical perspective wich Curitiba city and its metropolitan region was the object study, was created and experimented by theEnvironment and Development Doctors Program of UFPR from 1996 to 2000. That experience is the subject to this paper
