Thin-walled aluminum beta-ray tube counters
Aluminum tube Geiger-Muller counters have wall thickness of 0.004 in. and constructed from commercially available tooth paste tubes; tubes as furnished are in hard temper and have uniform wall thickness, which enable them to stand complete evacuation without tendency to collapse; by copper plating aluminum it is possible to soft solder fittings to tube to construct counter that can be permanently sealed after filling.
