Binders of autoclaved products
Description of X-ray diffraction identification of binders in 14 commercial autoclaved asbestos-cement products; results show that out of total of 24 samples (10 were identified previously), 22 binders were essentially tobermorite in different degrees of crystallinity; binders of other two could not be positively identified; calcite, by masking two of three principal tobermorite lines, accounts for equivocal identification of binders in some samples.
