Compaction of cohesionless foundation soils by explosives
Descripttion of methods of compacting nearly saturated, loose, cohesionless foundation soils in their natural state by detonating buried charges of explosives, used successfully at Franklin Falls Dam, NH, Denison Dam, Tex, and Almond Dam, NY; reducing horizontal permeability of stratified deposits. (See also Am Soc Civ Engrs -- Proc v 67 n 5 and 8 May 1941 p 769-80 and (discussion) Oct p 1511-2; Engineer v 172 n 4462 July 18 1941 p 45-6)
