Principles of flocculation related to water treatment
Coagulation includes addition of chemicals, their distribution, floc formation and floc build-up; conditioning process that leads to floc formation and build-up is "flocculation"; flocculation is usually accomplished by prolonged agitation at low velocity; commonly used coagulants are alum and ferric sulphur.
