Reflooring road-rail bridge in India
Iron and wood floor of Sukkur Channel bridge replaced with 4-in. thick reinforced concrete slabs, cast in situ; improved facilities for maintenance; timbers replaced with small mild steel stools consisting of short pieces of angles or channels welded together and finished top and bottom with flat plates, arranged for bolting direct to bottom of stringers; tops sloped to cant of rails, which are secured to cap plates by standard steel jaws and wedges.
