Stresses due to thermal gradients in reactor shieldings
Stresses due to sudden rise in surface temperature on inner side of fixed ended arch with rectangular cross section are evaluated; results are extended to case of surface temperature which first increases linearly and then remains constant, by means of Duhamel integral; formula for final state of stress in arch due to thermal shock; calculation of end moments and shears.
