Travelling loads on rigid-plastic beams
Problem of rigid plastic beam crossed by load which is too large for beam to support statically, such as crossing unsafe bridge; investigation on critical magnitude of traveling load, above which crossing cannot be made at any finite speed without causing total plastic collapse; present study indicates that critical load will not be obtained if mass of beam is taken into account.
