Tests on 120-ft-span prestressed concrete beam
Tests to destruction of 120-ft-span prestressed concrete beam similar to beams to be used in 4-span overpass at Chiswick, Great Britain; at ultimate load beam failed by crushing of concrete in top flange at deflection of 20 in.; calculated ultimate load was 6% less than actual failing load; assumptions for ultimate load calculations were vindicated.
