Design and construction of Ramfis Bridge over Higuamo River, Santo Domingo, consisting of central suspended span of 554 ft and two suspended side spans of 186 ft; height of steel towers, 120 ft, width of roadway, 20 ft; provision made to withstand tropical hurricanes of nearly 200 mph; use of pre-stressed strands; light-weight floor of interlocking steel channels filled and faced with pre-cast asphalt planks.
