Continuous concrete girders use steel hanger joints
Design and construction of continuous concrete-girder bridge, 570 ft long, mid-way between Seattle and Tacoma, Wash, consisting of six girder spans 80 ft to 100 ft in length; suspension joint used at one-third points in each of 90-ft spans; these joints, which are points of contraflexure for dead load, determined 260-ft length of unjointed central portion of bridge; suspended load at joints carried by short steel eyebars and pins.
