Analogy model for studying buckling phenomena in elasto-plastic range
Analogy is described by means of which it is possible, in relatively simple manner, to gain insight into behavior of axially and eccentrically compressed structural members in elasto-plastic range; member loaded in this manner is represented by similarly loaded block of light material floating in liquid; by simple analogy requisite reference as to member under consideration (stresses in sections, etc) can be drawn from state of equilibrium into which, in test, model is brought by means of appropriate loading.
