Consolidation of nonhomogeneous clay layers
Progress of consolidation in stratum of clay through which there is known continuous variation of consolidation parameters is studied; analytical and numerical methods to solve governing equations; series of cases is presented for variations of coefficients of permeability and compressibility with depth, in which effects of these parameters are analyzed in terms of excess pore pressure isochrones and time-settlement relations; analysis is presented for consolidation of thick clay layers.
