Kinetics of aerobic removal of organic wastes
Equation which establishes growth kinetics under batch conditions in aerobic system of organic wastes is obtained and combined with linear relationship between sludge growth and BOD removal; second equation expressing BOD removal under batch conditions is then developed; 2 equations were combined with mass balance to determine treatment efficiency in completely mixed-continuous flow system; equations were checked against experimental results obtained with synthetic activated sludge at 25 C.
