England's newest elevated highway built mostly of prestressed concrete
New overhead highway in England is built at height of 26 ft above surface highway; beams supporting 4-lane road are plant-made prestressed concrete members; centrally positioned T-shaped columns were used for minimum visual obstruction of users of road below; road will provide dual 2-lane roadways each 24-ft wide, with 4-ft wide reservation between; electric heating system is incorporated in road surfacing.
