Lateral resistance of piles in cohesive soils
Methods for calculation of deflections at working loads, ultimate lateral resistance, and moment distribution for laterally loaded unrestrained and restrained single piles and pile groups; lateral deflections have been calculated using concept of coefficient of subgrade reaction; satisfactory agreement was found at working loads between measured and calculated deflections and between measured and calculated maximum bending moments.
