Random walk study of convective diffusion
Molecular diffusion from instantaneous point in laminar, 2-dimensional flow field is studied by random walk simulation performed over approximately thousand-fold range of Peclet numbers; isopleths of diffusion cloud were obtained; methodology of simulation, relationship to continuum approach, and applications to other situations are examined.
