Preliminary report on special aeromagnetic survey of Puerto Rico trench
Purpose of survey was to provide data requested for preliminary studies in connection with Project Mohole; total magnetic field intensity data were plotted on reconstructed survey tracks and contoured at 25-gamma intervals; over Puerto Rico Trench, field is relatively smooth, with no major magnetic features; however, it appears that northwest-southeast magnetic trend from northern portion of area is discernible across trench; this trend can be seen in northeastern and north central areas of trench.
