Method for calculating location of free streamlines and flow coefficient in certain 2-dimensional, potential flows; jet flow from contracting channel and cavitating flow past wedge in channel; problem is formulated in terms of stream function in flow, and coordinate transformation is used to map physical flow onto velocity plane; resulting boundary value problem for stream function is solved in velocity plane by separation of variables and infinite integral representation; results may be calculated numerically; key results are presented graphically.
