Tests of cylindrical shells in plastic range
Study of 9 mild-steel cylindrical shells, with built-in ends, subjected to slowly increasing uniform radial pressure; all shells had same mean diameter and thickness, while length varied; yield stress was obtained from bending tests; limit pressure is assumed for design of cylindrical shells and pipes subjected to radial pressure only.
