Differential settlement at selfridge air force base
Study of buried clay strata of variable thickness and sensitivity, in combination with fluctuating water table, shows that movement detrimental to building foundations can occur beyond that indicated by present (1964) theory; extended time interval may pass before detrimental movement becomes noticeable; example of these conditions is described and analyzed.
