Airy's stress function is used to find expression for stresses in anchor zones of prestressed post-tensioned concrete beams; problem is treated as 2-dimensional boundary value problem; expressions for transverse stresses within anchor zone are derived in 3 cases of prestressing; values of transverse stress obtained are compared with those obtained by Guyon and Magnel.
