Collapse of arches under repeated loading
Procedure for analysis of structures subjected to repeated loading and, liable to incremental collapse of alternating plasticity or both, when 2 stress components must be considered; method is described within framework of simple plastic theory; analysis is extension of well-known methods for shakedown analysis of rectangular frames; procedure is illustrated with reference to reinforced concrete, uniform-section, fixed-end arch subjected to uniformly distributed live loads and variable temperature variations.
