A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Deposits have been investigated in field with respect to their accessibility, variability and other economic features; process has been developed for separating bitumen from sand, and tests have been made for demonstrating practical uses, particularly in connection with highway construction; crude bituminous sand as paving material; cost factors in marketing bituminous sand; separated bitumen for road oil; asphalt emulsions; manufacture of gasoline from bituminous sands. (see also Contract Rec., vol. 43, no. 48, Nov. 27, 1929, pp. 1398-1400)
