Acoustic and noise problems in design and construction of motion picture theater situated on one of noisiest corners in London, England; entire auditorium was to consist of reinforced concrete box mounted on Neoprene rubber mountings to isolate it from rumbles; roof of box was made with heavy steel girders carrying light-weight precast concrete roof to form barrier against aircraft noise; special screen was built as barrier against high intensity traffic noise; since auditorium box is above street level at first floor, resilient mountings are also placed at that level underneath it.
