Design and development of lightweight recoverable hydraulic prop
Modifications in design incorporating threaded components resulted in development of light weight hydraulic prop fabricated from aluminum alloy tubing; this new design facilitates interchange and replacement of component parts, and physical properties of material are not changed as they are when welding is required; new prop is 65, 000 lb and has maximum load capacity of lower weight-to-load capacity ratio than hydraulic props now available.
