Reconstruction of flood levees along Yugoslav section of Danube river
Principal consideration in design of new levee cross sections was to prevent unwanted seepage and leakage; levees were designed with watertight core and lining on waterside and filter (drain) part on landside; levees are designed with cross sectional dimensions -- crown width 6.0 m, riverside slope 1 to 3, landward slope between 1 to 5 and 1 to 7, freeboard above design flood level 1.2 m.
