Use of virtual-height slopes for determination of electron-density profiles
Relationship between slope of ionospheric virtual-height curve and higher derivatives of N(h) profile is derived and discussed; slope is found to depend mainly on second-height derivative at reflection point of probing wave; method of ionogram analysis based upon this formulation is proposed; appendix presents new forms of phase refractive index and its derivatives.
