A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Experiments made by School of Civil Engineering at University of Sydney, Australia to examine characteristics of steel and other ductile metal plates and to assess possible application of plate and shell structures in Civil Engineering; research work includes study of behavior of thin folded plate metal roof and examination of large deformation behavior of flat plates, when transversely loaded to cause significant permanent deformation; principles adopted and possible applications of inflated structures are outlined.
