Basic equation characteristic for discharge capacity of hydraulic structures
Equation of general validity for discharge through hydraulic structures was derived; allowance was made in equation for velocity distribution, pressure distribution and energy loss; relationship was established between these factors and contraction and discharge coefficients adopted in hydraulic practice, and influence of velocity and pressure distribution as well as of energy losses on discharge was expressed; relationships and considerations outlined apply to measuring and to other hydraulic engineering structures.
