Development of improved pavement marking materials -- Laboratory phase
Laboratory and field investigation presents evaluation of pavement marking materials currently in use; practical recommendations are made for improved design of economical markings; special emphasis is given to visbility of markings at night during periods of severe rainfall and new, low-cost, experimental marking has been developed and tested on public highway; development of new system of pavement markings to be applied like paint but which performs like raised reflectorized markers; 1/4-in. diam glass beads are embedded in pigmented epoxy binder.
