Influence of burning temperature on resistance to freezing of clays
Influence of burning temperature on resistance to freezing of clays; specimens prepared from roofing-tile clay, "Klinker" clay, Zettlitz kaolin, and mixture of Zettlitz kaolin and quartz sand, fired at temperatures from 500 to 1250 C, were investigated; results indicate that danger from freezing can be reduced by high burning temperatures and by use of non-plastic admixtures.
