Yielding and flow of sand in triaxial compression -- 1
Theoretical and experimental study of nature of deformation of sand sample when tested in triaxial apparatus is presented; medium is shown to be elastic-strain hardening plastic but does not conform to certain rules usually adopted in classical theory of plasticity; experimental verification of earlier suggestion by Poorooshasb (1961) leads to proof of existence of potential function, known as plastic potential.
